Next I wrote the Opinion of what the duck did in the story.

Next I wrote adjectives about the ducks persnality for example the duck is brave, and intelligent.

Visualisation is when you read a story and imagine pictures in your head.

Place value and saying numbers

Place value is a system that groups numbers based on their size.

The position of a digit detwrmins its value. when we say numbers we group them within the same house.

For example 15709 fas fifteen thousands, seven hundreds and nice ones.

Understanding our base 10 place value sysetem allowes us to pronounce big numbers properly. It also allows us to identify numbers before and after.

AFL Training week 2

We did AFL on the feild.

We practiced passing the ball. We had to make a fist with our dominant hand and you had to make a dinner plate with your other hand. You hit the ball with your fist off the dinner plate.
Next we practiced our kicking. To kick the ball you had to hold the ball on a M with your fingers and put the X pointing the ground and another X pointing to the sky. Keep the laces on the ball away from faces.

We also learned how to tackle people you had to put your arm around the persons shoulder and push him to the ground.

Next we learned how to do the tip off. You had to throw the ball up in the air and to people had to punch the ball before the other person does.

My favourite lesson was the tackling becuase I got to tackle my freinds but I need to inprove on my aim with my kicking.

Mihi Whakatau

Mihi Whakatau is a Maori term for a greeting.

Mihi Whakatau is traditionally used for welcoming, introductions and openings. It is undertaken by the Tangata Whenua (local inhabitants)

The Mihi needs to acknowledge the significant aspects to the place. The Maunga (mountain), Awa (river), and Iwi (tribe) are generally used.

Introducing Ingoa (name), Oku Tipuna (ancestoral place) and where you live is important for the audience to understand the positions of the Speaker.

Manuhiri is the term used to describe or group the visitors that are being welcomed.

It is important to end with warm welcome so the visitor know that there is no hostility in the 2 groups being together.

Being respectful of the land, the people and the purpose of a visit will ensure long lasting relationships and connections.

SSR Selfie

I read the first 31 pages of the Caiptain Underpants Attack Of The Talking Toilets writin by Dav Pilkey.

The main characters are Geaorge and Harold and their mean principal Mr Krupp.

Harold and Geaorge are silly, and naughty.

They have a mean and strict principal named Mr Krupp.

I dont like Mr Krupp because he is mean and strict.

LS1s Treaty

LS1 we learnt about the 3ps in the Treaty of Waitangi and how they apply to our learning.

First Mr Ogilvie introduced the 3ps in the Treaty of Waitangi.

They are protection, partnership,participation.

Then in groups we wrote statments about the 3ps in LS1.

LS1 figured out the 3ps are all connected.

After thet we used our group ideas and thought about how they connected to me.

I chose these 3 statments because they will help me be successful with my learning in LS1.

I will practice to get better at these statments.
